‘Corpse Bride’ to go on Iranian stage

Iranian theater director Omid-Reza Sepehri has set to take ‘Corpse Bride’ on stage in Tehran.

Produced by Maryam Naraqi, the new play will be on stage in Persian month of Ordibehesht (April-May, 2019). The announced venue is Espinas Palace Hotel in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

The theatrical project is an adaptation of Tim Burton and Mike Johnson’s animated feature ‘Corpse Bride’.

The Fantasy drama animation is about Victor and Victoria whose families have arranged their marriage. Victor picks a forest to practice his vows for the ceremony. While doing so, he is dragged into the world of the dead where he must escape from if he wants to save his fiancé from the villainous Barkis Bittern.

Milad Mahdavi is in charge of music production for the new play. Mehdi Norouzi’s orchestra will perform the pieces.

Norouzi has collaboration with Richard Clayderman in his resume.
